The Old Homestead Bed and Breakfast is a centennial Inn in an updated 1850’s rooming house, an imposing structure nestled in the quaint Village of Barnet on scenic Rte 5, along the Connecticut River Valley. High speed Internet, hot showers, and ample electrical out lets will not detract from your experience of old world charm — random width pine floors, heirloom quilts and treasures, and inviting porches with views of the White Mountains.
Arrive early to take a garden stroll, check out a nearby waterfall or round barn, refresh with a snack from the kitchenette, warm your toes by the fire, or relax on a porch swing. You may share a cup of tea with Gail while getting directions to a favorite Vermont haunts or reserving for your evening dining. A few minutes drive can get you to unique shopping, arts programs and Galleries at Catamount, a variety of current films, and cuisine to satisfy any taste and appetite. Make time also to stretch your legs on a hike, enjoy the Lamoille Bike Trail, or cool off with a swim in Harvey’s Lake or Joe’s Brook.
Morning breakfast, served elegantly, may feature locally grown foods in season, such as our own blue berries or Elizabeth’s strawberries and Deb’s rhubarb. Diet limitations are not a problem.
