Advocacy
VLA gives you a legislative voice
VLA has engaged the distinguished government relations division of Downs Rachlin Martin (DRM), one of Vermont’s most well-respected law firms, to represent us in legislative sessions. DRM is well positioned to ensure Vermont lodging’s voice is heard. Increased and Sustainable Tourism Funding to VDTM, ddressing proposals for increases to the Meals & Rooms Tax, Workforce Development, Property Tax/Healthcare reform are just some of the topics we are addressing.
DRM’s team consists of professionals who attend every relevant committee meeting so that we don’t miss a thing. If needed, we issue Action Alert emails to mobilize our association on critical matters.

The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) is honored to lead the hotel industry’s national advocacy agenda and share stories of opportunity, innovation, and service.
From the Administration and Congress to state capitols and city halls, we are committed to engaging policymakers and community leaders on important issues, including economic recovery and relief, addressing our workforce needs, bringing back travel, and protecting our guests and neighborhoods.
