This is a place where adventure and serenity peacefully coexist; where comfort comes in the form of featherbeds and easy conversation and scrumptious breakfasts; where you might find your hosts singing in the kitchen while cooking for you; where mountain and meadow and river and forest meet; where each season overflows with its unique offerings and gifts; where you come for the scenery and stay for everything else.
Just on the edge of the lively little town of Waitsfield, Vermont, The Featherbed Inn sits on 20 acres of land, with 800 acres of forest and meadow, and miles and miles of maintained mountain bike and snowshoe trails a few steps from the front door. Drive seven minutes in either direction, and you’ll find yourself at some of the best skiing in the East – Sugarbush to the south and Mad River Glen to the north. And a few minutes more takes you to 2 cross-country ski centers.
This 1806 farmhouse is one of the oldest building in Waitsfield, and in the 1950s became one of the first B&Bs to welcome skiers from the newly opened Mad River Glen. The inn welcomes you with two living rooms, one with a large fieldstone fireplace, a dining room, an 1840s barn, and European featherbeds in every room.
Come, and let us share our passion and love for this place with you.
